Inside our cabin, watching the fire dance, warming us against the cold outside. Having spent the day hiking some of the trails that make up the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair national park, this was the perfect end to the day. Our favourite trail was Marions Lookout where you can look down towards Dove Lake and out to Cradle Mountain. I'd love to go back to complete the overland track - a 65km walk through the national park which takes about a week to complete. One of the highlights of Cradle Mountain (and Tasmania) was seeing wombats in the wild! We even managed to see an echidna scurry into the bush on our drive back down the mountain.
This planet sure is an amazing place.
